we live in a capitaless society

Something has happened to our capital letters. Lost in the matrix of text messaging, IMing and emailing, the capital letter has ceased to be the standard way to start a sentence or even spell a proper noun. People sign themselves with a small letter, merging their name into the indecipherable background of the modern, metropolitan palimpsest.
